How does it feel?

It is different for everyone and can feel different each time. In general you feel totally relaxed and calm, you will hear some of what your Hypnotherapist is saying and some of it you won't, but don’t worry, its your subconscious mind that the Hypnotherapist is talking to so you don’t need to be consciously aware of what is being said.

How Many Sessions will I need?

It depends on:- What areas of work we are addressing, client commitment and participation, how much the client wants to get out of it.

Phobias are 3 sessions, an Initial Consultation, followed by 2 sessions of Hypnotherapy

Smoking is 2 sessions 1 week apart

All other sessions are dependent on area of work but for example:-

Exam stress 3 to 5 sessions

Weight loss 10 to 25 sessions

Depression more than 5 but will be dependent on the clients progress

Are there any side effects?

There are no negative side effects only positive good ones like feeling relaxed and calm!

Will I remember everything afterwards?

This depends on the individual and how deep they go into trance.

How can I tell if a Hypnotherapist is qualified and how do I chose one?

All Hypnotherapists must belong to a professional association such as the ‘Hypnotherapy Society’ or ‘The Professional Hypnotherapy Practitioner Association’. They must also be fully insured. The hypnotherapist should have evidence of belonging to these professional associations on their website, or if he / she does not have a website, then you should ask to see their professional certificates when you see them.

It is best to contact them on the phone and have a chat to see if you like them and then arrange to meet them. You will be trusting them and spending a lot of time with them so you must feel comfortable and confident that they will be able to help you. It is also advisable to look at their client feedback.
